In this class, we’ll dive into snowy scenes, looking at how light, color, and atmosphere transform a winter landscape. We will explore successful winter scenes including that of the artist George Bellows. In this class, you’ll learn how to mix cool and warm tones to make snow glow, how to capture the long violet shadows in the snow, and how to add figures or natural elements that bring your scene to life. With some guided exercises and plenty of room to experiment, you’ll create your own expressive winter landscape that goes beyond white paint and bare branches.
