Nature is full of patterns—rippling water, tangled branches, shifting light, and repeating forms that can feel both structured and wild. In this class, we’ll explore how to translate those natural rhythms into bold, graphic designs and playful organic shapes. We’ll look at examples from David Hockney and from teaching artist Jason Watts who explores natural forms through deconstructed patterns and layered abstractions. Students will create multiple dynamic compositions inspired by patterns in nature.
