Bring a work in progress—or start something new!
Artist’s Table is an open, supportive studio for painters seeking guidance, exploration, and community. Participants bring either a painting in progress or a new idea they want to develop. The instructor will guide you through sketchbook exercises, experimental approaches, and creative strategies that can inform and enhance your finished work. You’ll also have the chance to present your work to the class, discuss its significance, and receive constructive feedback—a valuable opportunity to step into a professional artist mindset.
After signing up, submit an image of your work-in-progress or a brief description of your new idea, along with any reference images that convey your intent. Email these materials to karly@elmhurstartmuseum.org. The workshop is then tailored to accommodate different skill levels and artistic approaches. Please bring your own materials (canvases, supplies, etc.), as limited shared materials are available. Please note: no oil paints, spray paint, or other high-fume materials may be used.
Each session provides individualized guidance and encouragement while you explore your creative process alongside fellow artists. Artist’s Table is ideal for painters seeking focus, support, and the freedom to experiment in a welcoming, collaborative environment.
