Teen Workshop: Street Art

Ages: High Schoolers (9th - 12th grade)

This summer, artist and educator Irais Bahena will lead a series of free workshops for teens that will combine art and design to explore the exciting world of street art. Projects will take place in our Hostetler gallery as well as outdoors (weather permitting).

This 6-session workshop series will run beginning Saturday, June 18th. The final project created by workshop students will be displayed at the museum.

Irais Bahena received her B.A. in Art Education from Elmhurst University. She is currently teaching at Thomas Kelly College Prep (Chicago Public School system) and has held several leadership positions including teaching classes and camps at the Elmhurst Art Museum. Bahena has used local and worldwide street art as a starting point to speak about art aesthetics, ethics, and morals in the broader context of the art world.

*Times: 10 AM - 2 PM

All sessions will be held at the Elmhurst Art Museum through the main doors.
