Soirée 2024 Fund-a-Need Donation

Your support ensures that Art is for Everyone.

Each year the museum provides free programming for students and families through field trips and educational visits featuring hands-on activities, community projects like Art in Wilder Park, family days for unique arts experiences, and workshops and seminars that explore and expand the themes and issues of the current exhibits, and more. We do this because ensuring Art is for Everyone is our purpose and is fundamental for the cultural vitality of our community.

Your support directly funds events like last Spring’s artist in residence, which served sponsored field trips from underserved areas, important community partnerships with area youth groups, the production of new artistic work by the artist Tony Smith, and collaborative photo and videos by the students.

This year's Fund-a-Need will help the museum provide programming and transportation free to 350 children from underserved schools. Through outreach and cultivation, area schools and community and family service organizations are invited to participate in funded Museum field trips. Field trips revolve around the current exhibition and are comprised of customized curriculum, an activity, an educator-led tour of the exhibition and surveys to measure gains in critical thinking around the custom tour and activity. Each participating child also receives free passes to return with family members. 

We will also continue our weekend educational programming at the museum which is offered free to visitors after admission or membership entry. With your support, the museum will deliver these family and community arts programming to nearly 2,500 participants each year.

With a combination of a free public art project and the annual arts festival Art in Wilder Park, the museum offered hands-on activities, scavenger hunts, and more to thousands of families. This year’s art installation was based on monster drawings submitted by more than 300 school aged children from the local area.

All Fund-a-Need donations are fully tax-deductible and will be applied towards museum membership, including Sustaining Fellows levels. Fund-a-Need donors will also be invited to a special preview reception before next year’s Soirée.
