Giving Day Match Challenge
Elmhurst Art Museum announces $20,000 Board of Directors match challenge in advance of a new dedicated Giving Day on April 4th.
“Every act of creation is first an act of destruction.” Heeding Picasso’s advice, we have recently been hard at work, tearing out the old, and completely modernizing the museum’s environmental controls with new HVAC, roofing and temperature and humidity controls in the galleries. This work, which caused us to close this March, provides the protective environment necessary to expand our programming and share work like Picasso with our community.
Please consider a matching gift towards our Giving Day match challenge to support this major environmental modernization.
After the work scheduled for completion in early April, this summer’s highly anticipated
Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross, May 28 – August 20, 2023, will kick off the 26th season, in an exhibition celebrating one of the greatest artists in the field of comic books.
"Give me a museum and I'll fill it," Picasso once said. And he created over 50,000 works in his lifetime to prove it. Elmhurst Art Museum is extremely honored to be able to host an exhibition dedicated to Picasso this fall as part of the global tribute 50 years after his death.
Exhibitions of this caliber are only possible with the support of patrons like you, who share in our vision of inspiring and enriching our community through art, education, and architecture.
Join the $20,000 Giving Day match opportunity to help launch the next 25 years full of exhibitions, education, and public programming.
“Everything you can imagine is real.” It’s our shared vision that brings us here. From our earliest days of classes in a basement room, to the famed cross-town move of Mies van der Rohe’s McCormick House that incorporated this unique architectural component with substantial exhibition, education, public and administrative spaces of the Museum’s main building, to our current environmental modernization, everything we imagined is real.
Help us reach our goal and double your impact through the Giving Day match challenge.
Thank you, and we look forward seeing you soon during our 26th Season!
