A REVOLUTION OF VALUES is Elmhurst Art Museum’s contribution to the 2026 Veteran Art Triennial and Summit titled RESISTING THE LONG WAR, a four-venue event including exhibitions and public programs presented this fall across Chicagoland, that highlights artists’ creative resistance to war and militarism. Building on the legacy of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, A REVOLUTION OF VALUES features the work of contemporary veteran artists who are turning away from fighting and toward solidarity. The exhibition opens with archival materials from Vietnam Veterans Against the War and goes on to present artists working across a range of media including ceramics, sculpture, photography, and video. Together, the artworks celebrate the many ways veteran artists reflect on their military experiences, challenge the structures of government systems, and imagine alternative futures grounded in collective care. A REVOLUTION OF VALUES runs from September 12, 2026 to January 3, 2027 and is curated by Aaron Hughes, Amber Zora, and Muhamed Medi.
